REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
All the information you need to apply can be found here.
The Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center (CAFAC) and Metalcrafters invite you to create your interpretation of a Minnesota waterfall for a year-long exhibition at the Airport Mall Gallery at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP). This is an opportunity to create visibility for CAFAC and for fire art forms, as well as for your own artworks. The Airport Foundation of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), through its Arts@MSP program, selected this exhibition both to promote local art and artists and to introduce visitors to Minnesota's natural wonders. You are invited to apply!
EXHIBITION DETAILS
Stipend: A stipend of $1,500 will be provided to all artists selected to participate in the exhibition. The art piece will be returned to the artist in October 2023 following the year-long display. The artist will be invited, but not required, to participate in a sale at the CAFAC gallery following the exhibition.
Display: The display case for the exhibit is the Airport Mall Gallery located in the main traffic aisle of the Terminal 1 at MSP, just outside the food court. The pair of display cases is 6’8” H x 16’ W x 2’2” D. It is equipped with a Walker Display System for hanging panels and there are several different sized pedestals to support 3D sculptures. Name plates and informational placards will be provided by Arts@MSP.
For reference, here is the exhibit currently on view in that space.

Decision criteria: Proposals will be evaluated on the ability to interpret and inform a Minnesota waterfall, quality and creativity of the art submission, and the overall fit within the display case.
