CAFAC has always been a volunteer-driven and community-led organization. We’ve seen unprecedented growth over the past 12 months in enrollment, scholarship disbursements, and our physical space. Join the community and support Twin Cities fire artists through Fuelership or a one-time donation!
Here are some recent highlights:
In the first three quarters of 2024, we’ve given away over $11,000 in scholarships! That’s on pace to set a new record. 60% of awards have gone to BIPOC learners. CAFAC scholarships don’t require proof of income, which can often be a barrier to access.
In three quarters, we’ve had almost 874 enrollments in our public classes. Our highest ever at this point in the year! On top of that, we’ve welcomed visiting artists to teach master classes, delivered blacksmithing classes to Dodge Nature Center’s new smithy in the southeast metro, and partnered with 23rd Veteran to provide forge-building classes to veterans.
Since launching an artist residency program in 2023, we’ve hosted seven residents, supporting artists by providing the time, space, and resources to expand their skills and create new work in blacksmithing, enamel, neon, glass and more!
We're deeply grateful for the many learners whose class fees sustain a large part of our operations, but they don't cover all of our costs. Fuelerships provide CAFAC with a regular contributed income source, especially if you sign up for a monthly contribution!
