You are invited to join us in a virtual fireside artist chat with the artists and curators of our current exhibition “In/Out” For this current exhibit artists were asked for works inspired by a personal journey to finding your sense of self. We will be using this time to give space for discussion on finding identity in the struggle to conform. What it is like when you are the one going against the grain of society or your familial structures or both.
“In/Out” was created in collaboration between Cellou Diallo and Jhyle Rinker. Cellou is a conceptual artist and designer in the beginning of his journey into the artistic world. He has a lot of fun with conceptual art and looks for a deeper meaning in things, believing every inch of a piece can tell a story. Jhyle is a curator and contemporary jewelry artist who works in reusable/recycled materials. She began her career at CAFAC as a volunteer and became an employee in 2016 as the Gallery Coordinator. She sees the gallery space as CAFACs hearth. A space for community to come together through creativity and thoughtful discussion, where art is for everyone.
Featured Artists for this exhibition are as follows: Cedar Thomas, Jacob Rath, Sophia Munich, Jess Bergman-Tank, Samael Leopold Sullivan, Laura “Deetle” Nelson, MollieRae Miller, SoulSpeak Expressions, Jamie Weinfurter, Josh Odd, Robert McGrady, Lalita Prachanty, Kit Harlow, and Jeremy Jones.
Gallery Hours are 1:30pm-3:30pm, Monday-Friday or by appointment. The exhibit will run through December 10th. To schedule a viewing email Jhyle at gallery@cafac.org
